Summer is a beautiful time of the year. The weather is warm, the days are long, but this great season can also bring about some nasty breakouts and oily skin. This is due to the heat, humidity, sweat, and extra oil that come with the season.

Use a Foaming Cleanser

The heat and humidity can cause your oil glands to work overtime. Though you can’t stop this oil production completely, you can control it. We recommend cleaning your face twice per day with a foaming cleanser to help reduce and manage the amount of oil being produced on your face.

Use an Astringent

Adding astringents to your skin care routine during the summer is a great way to remove excess oil that has built up on your skin’s surface. You can use anything from standard witch hazel to your preferred brand, as long as it feels great on your skin and doesn’t produce any adverse effects. If it burns on stings, try switching to another brand.

Shower after Sweating

Sweat can irritate and produce acne, so try and hit the showers immediately after an intense session at the gym or after a day sweating it out at a music festival. Not only will you feel great after a hot shower, but you’ll be able to wash away all of the dirt and grime sticking to your skin.
