Is there someone on your list for whom you really want to offer a gift they’ll love, something that definitely won’t end up in a drawer or being donated to a charity? Has this person ever expressed wanting to look and feel younger? If so, it might be time to consider giving the gift of great skin with Sculptra®.
A treatment that does more than traditional fillers and offers a truly incredible look boosted with your own, natural biology, Sculptra is a procedure that your friend or family member will love and find extremely easy to manage in the coming years. How could anyone say no?
Colorado Skin Care offers Sculptra treatment with an individualized consultation session with our provider. Kimberly Stone, MD, has seen the many benefits of this procedure and the way it improves natural collagen production over time, creating a face to love in the new year. Trust us when we say there’s nothing better to give away or to put on your very own wishlist!
A relatively new procedure that was invented in the 90s, Sculptra is approved by the FDA to treat a number of cosmetic issues, particularly notable in the facial structure when wrinkles, sagging, and other signs of aging take hold. This procedure uses a similar process to dermal fillers, but it does offer a few key differences.
While most dermal fillers are made of hyaluronic acid, Sculptra is made of poly-L-lactic acid. When dermal fillers are injected into the areas of the face where sagging, hollowing, and wrinkles occur, they fill out these areas, making them appear firmer and fuller, erasing wrinkles. Fillers, though, don’t jumpstart any of the body’s natural processes.
Sculptra does. When it’s injected into these same areas, the biostimulator solution helps to produce collagen in the face. Collagen is a protein that occurs naturally in the body, and it connects your tissues, creating fuller, younger-looking skin. Over time, natural production of collagen starts to decline, but Sculptra can help accelerate it again.
When you decide to get Sculptra, it’s important to make sure the process is right for you, as well as that your expectations are set properly for the process. This will be the first step before you even begin treatment. One of our staff members will discuss the procedure with you, answer any of your questions, and ensure you understand exactly how the process works.
When you show up for your first procedure, your provider administers a local anesthetic to numb the area or areas being treated. Afterward, you receive an injection where the Sculptura is placed beneath the skin with a needle. Once the procedure is over, you’ll be able to return to your daily activities.
You’ll want to avoid strenuous activities and excessive sunlight for the first few days after the procedure. If you notice swelling or bruising, you may be able to take over-the-counter pain medication, but it’s important to discuss all of this with your provider and to follow their individualized plan for you.
You may still be wondering why you should gift someone Sculptra. What makes it better than regular fillers anyway? For one, it increases the body’s own collagen production, which means it will continue to improve the look of their face over time as the result of natural effects. In addition, it can last for upward of two years before your loved one will need a touch-up.
Also, Sculptra continues to improve the look of the face gradually, so your loved one won’t experience an unnaturally severe effect in a short period. This is a great way to start looking the way you want as the new year begins to unfold. It’ll also be a present they’ll continue to enjoy and see positive results from months after your gift exchange is over.
Finally, we know it’s typical to feel a bit of a lag after the holidays, especially in the colder months of January and February. That’s why getting this treatment, which continues to improve with time, is a great way to boost one’s spirits. When the world begins to blossom in the springtime, your friend or family member will be seeing the peak of their results.
